Women and Child Helplines

 438*. SHRI RAJEEV CHANDRASEKHAR:

Will the Minister of WOMEN AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state;

(a)   whether Government has undertaken a study on the working of women and child help-lines in the country;

(b)   if so, the details thereof including the number of such help-lines, State-wise; and

(c)    if not, the action proposed to be taken by Government, given that several help-lines are found to be defunct or non-functional and therefore unable to provide timely interventions?

STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN RAJYA SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO 438 FOR 7.8.2014 BY SHRI RAJEEV CHANDRASEKHAR REGARDING WOMEN AND CHILD HELP-LINES

(a): Ministry of Women and Child Development has not undertaken any study on the working of women and child help-lines.

(b): Does not arise.

(c): Ministry of Women and Child Development will write to the concerned Ministries and State Governments to undertake reviews and studies of help-lines established by them.
