Villages Covered under Pmagy in Karnataka

1. SHRI RAJEEV CHANDRASEKHAR:

Will the Minister of SOCIAL JUSTICE AND EMPOWERMENT be pleased to state:

(a)   whether it is a fact that a Central Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana (PMAGY) is being implemented by Government for villages with more than 50 per cent Scheduled Caste population;

(b)   if so, the details thereof;

(c)    how many villages in Karnataka have been covered under the PMAGY, district-wise; and

(d)   what facilities have so far been provided to these villages in the State under the scheme?

(a) & (b) The  Centrally Sponsored Pilot Scheme of "Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana" is being  implemented in 1000 selected villages having more than 50% Scheduled Castes (SC) population, in five States viz. Assam (100 villages), Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu (225 villages each).

(c) & (d) Karnataka has not been included in the pilot phase.
