ANSWER

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT
(SHRI M. A. A. FATMI)

(a)    to (d) Under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), teachers are recruited by the respective State Governments, as per their own specific rules & regulations, norms & remuneration.

In cases where States` wish to recruit teachers in relaxation of conditions specified by the National Council of Teacher Education, they seek exemption from that body. Furthermore, States have initiated training programmes for such para teachers to acquire professiohal training through distance education mode with assistance of the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).
