Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:-
(a) whether it is a fact that Indirapuram and other newly developed areas around Ghaziabad in U.P. are not covered by CGHS;
(b) if so, whether there is any proposal to open a new CGHS dispensary for these areas where a large number of Central Government employees and pensioners have shifted;
(c) if so, by when that is likely to be done; and
(d) if not, the reasons therefor?
ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR HEALTH & FAMILY WELFARE
(SMT. PANABAKA LAKSHMI)
(a) Yes, Sir.
(b) to (d) Due to resource constraints, it has not been possible for the CGHS to extend CGHS facilities to areas presently not covered by it. Serving employees residing in areas not covered by the CGHS can avail medical facilities under the provisions of Central Services (Medical Attendance) Rules, 1944. Pensioners residing in areas not covered by the CGHS can avail CGHS facilities by registering themselves with a CGHs dispensary nearest to their place of residence.
