Modernization of Non-Metro Airports
1748. SHRI RAJEEV CHANDRASEKHAR:
Will the Minister of CIVIL AVIATION be pleased to state:-
(a) Whether it is a fact that 36 non-metro airports have been selected for modernization over ten years ago;
(b) If so, the details thereof; and
(c) How many of these have been modernized so far?

(a) , (b) & (c) 60 Airports had been selected for modernization in the country. Of these, work has been completed at Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Aurangabad, Agartala, Akola, Agra, Bhopal, Belgaum, Chandigarh, Calicut, Cooch-Behar, Dehradun, Dibrugarh, Gondia, Hubll, Indore, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Coimbatore, Kullu, Lucknow, Madurai, Mangalore, Mysore, Nagpur, Pune, Rajahmundry, Surat, Shillong (Barapani), Srinagar, Tiruchirapalli, Trivandrum, Udaipur, Varanasi, Vishakhapatnam. At above airports new modern Terminals have been completed with modern state-of the-art passenger facilities besides comfortable lounges, user friendly amenities and good ambience
