Introduction of Armed Forces Covenant

672. SHRI RAJEEV CHANDRASEKHAR:

 Will the Minister of DEFENCE be pleased to state;

(a)   whether Government would consider introducing an Armed Forces Covenant to demonstrate its commitment to the well-being of the members of our Armed Forces and their families; and

(b)   if so, the details thereof and, if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) & (b): There is no such proposal. However, the Government is committed to the wellbeing of the members of the Armed Forces and their families. A number of measures for the welfare of serving personnel of the Armed Forces, ex-Servicemen and their families are already being taken. Time tested mechanisms are also in place for redressal of grievances of service personnel.
