GST network free from Cyber-Attack and data theft

 

4383: SHRI RAJEEV CHANDRASEKHAR:

Will the Minister of FINANCE be pleased to state:

(a)The number of assesses enrolled on the GST network up till 1st March, 2017; and

 

(b)Whether Government has taken any steps to ensure that the GST network being developed for the implementation of GST is completely foolproof from Cyber-Attacks and data theft, if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a)Till 7:00 pm on 1st March 2017, 48,48,641 taxpayers had enrolled on GST portal (www.gst.gov.in)

 

(b)Necessary steps are being taken by GSTN to ensure robust Cyber Security of GST Network. To ensure the same, inputs from National Cyber Security Coordinator (NCSC), officers from the Intelligence Bureau and CERT-In, have also been taken and various aspects relating to security including the mechanism to enhance the resilience of critical and sensitive GST IT Network have been examined. GSTN has also partnered with Standardisation Testing & Quality Certification (STQC), Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY) for providing security audit and compliance support to GSTN.
