FUNDS UNDER MGNREGS FOR KARNATAKA
2195. SHRI RAJEEV CHANDRASEKHAR:
Will the Minister of RURAL DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:
(a) the details of funds allocated to Karnataka for wage disbursement under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS); and
(b) the details of compensation paid towards delay in the payment of wages under MGNREGS, till date to Karnataka?

(a) Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) is a demand driven wage employment programme. Hence no State/UT- wise allocation of fund is made. Ministry of Rural Development has release amounting to Rs.70812.44 lakh towards wages component as Mother Sanction under MGNREGS during the current financial year 2018-19 (as on 01.08.2018) to State Government of Karnataka.
(b) As per Management Information System (MIS), Rs. 1.35 crore has been paid as compensation (as on 31.07.2018) by the State Government of Karnataka under MGNREGS to workers.
