CRIME AGAINST CHILDREN

 

  1. SHRI RAJEEV CHANDRASEKHAR:

Will the Minister of WOMEN AND CHILD DVELOPMENT be pleased to state:

 

(a) Whether the Ministry has received reports from National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) and State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR) under Section 44 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offence (POSCO) Act, 2012 read with Rule 6 of POSCO Rules, 2012, for the purpose enumerated in the provisions and if so, the details thereof and whether the monitoring has aided in bringing about improvement in the crime rates against children;

 

(b) Whether NCPCR has prepared the annual reports for 2014-15, 2015-16 and 2016-17 which includes the work done for protecting the children from sexual abuse; and

 

(c) If so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a): Ministry of Women and Child Development has not received such reports.

 

(b) & (c): The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has prepared the Annual Reports for the year 2014-15 and 2015-16. These Annual Reports of NCPCR include a chapter on Protection of Children from Sexual Offence (POSCO); where in the work done for protecting the children from sexual abuse has been reflected. The Annual Report for the year 2016-17 has not been received in the Ministry.
