Amendment in Cinematograph Act

Will the Minister of INFORMATION AND BROADCASTING be pleased to state:
(a) whether, considering the ban/restrictions imposed on a film which was certified by the constitutional authority of the Central Government, Government is considering an amendment to the Cinematograph Act so that the film certification domain of Government under CBFC is accepted by the State Governments; and
(b) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b): Yes, Sir. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has set up a Committee, headed by a retired Chief Justice of High Court, which would look into all the issues related to certification under Cinematograph Act.
