Will the Minister of CONSUMER AFFAIRS, FOOD AND PUBLIC DISTRIBUTION be pleased to state:-

(a) whether FCI has fixed any target this year for the procurement of wheat from the major wheat producing States, state-wise;

(b)if so, the details thereof and the extent to which the target has been achieved, so far, State-wise; and

(c) the quantity of wheat, so far; purchased by private parties from these States?

(c):The quantity of wheat purchased by private parties is not maintained in the Department. However the notification
titled `Wheat (Stock Declaration by Companies or Firms or Individuals) Order 2007 issued under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 on 1.3.2007 provides that 
any Company or Firm or individual who purchases wheat beyond 50,000 tonnes during 2007-08 shall furnish to the Central Government a return indicating the 
name/address of the company, quantity of wheat purchased and quantity of wheat held in stock. The information furnished by Companies/Firms/individuals 
as per this notification is given in Annexure.
