Review of Legislation Pertaining to Coal Block Allocation

*71. SHRI RAJEEV CHANDRASEKHAR:

Will the Minister of COAL be pleased to state:-

(a)   whether Government is taking steps to review the existing legislation and introduce a clearer lawon the expiry of the Coal Mines (Special Provisions) Ordinance, 2014 in the light of the Delhi High Court's remarks on the said ordinance which described the ordinance as totally unclear;

(b)   if so, the details thereof; and

(c)    the time-line for the same?

(a) to (c): The Government intends to introduce the Coal Mines (Special Provisions) Bill, 2015 toreplace the Coal Mines (Special Provisions) Second Ordinance, 2014 in the current session of theParliament. There are no changes proposed in the Bill.
