Will the Minister of HOME AFFAIRS be pleased to state:-
(a) whether it is a fact that the rehabilitation and reconstruction work for tsunami victims in Andaman and Nicobar Islands is unlikely to meet the March, 2009 deadline;
(b) if so, by when such work is likely to be completed; and
(c) the number of permanent houses constructed for tsunami victims so far in Andaman and Nicobar Islands?

(a) & (b): Except 9019 permanent shelters, some projects in other sectors will spill over beyond March, 2009. Completion of works pertaining to ports & jetties, fish landing centers, power and tourism projects will spill over beyond 2010.
(c): 3083 permanent houses have been constructed till 30.11.2008.
