Will the Minister of ENVIRONMENT AND FORESTS be pleased to state:-
(a) whether it is a fact that two Royal Bengal tigers were poisoned in October last by the villagers near
(b) Orang National Park in Darang district of Assam;
(c) if so, whether the aspect of the villagers sneaking into the protected forest area has been inquired into; and
(d) if so, the findings thereof and the action taken/proposed to be taken thereon?

(a) to (c ): As reported by the State, the patrolling staff of Orang National Park had reported mortality of two tigers on 2.10.2007 and 4.10.2007, regarding which action has been taken for further investigation by the concerned State authorities.
