(b) if so, what action the Central Government propose to take in the matter, so as to ensure that the riparian States in the South are not in any way adversely affected?
ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF WATER RESOURCES
(SHRI JAI PRAKASH NARAYAN YADAV )
(a) & (b): National Water Development Agency (NWDA) has been entrusted with the work of identifying intra-State links and to prepare pre-feasibility/feasibility reports of these links. NWDA has requested all the States, including Tamil Nadu on 29.7.2005, to inform the details of intra-State links for further studies by NWDA. The Government of Tamil Nadu has not sent any proposal to the Ministry of Water Resources/NWDA.
