JNNURM Ranking of Cities Covered Under UIG

1234. SHRI RAJEEV CHANDRASEKHAR: 

Will the Minister of URBAN DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:

(a)   whether Government is planning to introduce an annual JNNURM ranking of the cities that have been covered under the Urban Infrastructure & Governance (UIG) component, against the metrics outlined in the stated objectives of Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM);

(b)   if so, by when this is likely to happen; and

(c)    if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) & (b): Yes, Sir. As the proposal requires development of matrix/composite index & conducting of survey of cities across the country, definite time line cannot be predicted.

(c): Does not arise in view of above.
