Group to Review Security of Country

1747. SHRI RAJEEV CHANDRASEKHAR:

Will the minister of DEFENCE be pleased to state:

(a)   Whether the hon’ble prime minister has set up a group to review the security of the country;

(b)   If so, the objectives of the group; and

(c)    The time – frame for the group to submit its report?

To (c):  Yes, Sir.  The objective of the Task Force is to review the existing processes, products and practices in the national security system and suggest measures, where necessary, for strengthening of the national security apparatus. The term of the Task Force is for a period of six months with effect from 1^st July 2011.
